Agree the prep, pattern and price before you start.

Customer-supplied tiles don’t mean a simple job. Keep substrate prep, trims, grout and layout changes in the paperwork.

Put the preparation in the quote

Separate floor preparation from laying, and record who supplies the tiles. Keep extra levelling or a changed layout clearly agreed.

A working example

From customer-supplied tiles to an agreed floor finish

This is an illustrative workflow using the existing shared tools in Trade PA. You supply the findings and prices; Eve helps with the admin.

  1. Record the chosen tile and supply arrangements

The customer is buying the tiles. You need to confirm the substrate, floor levels and responsibilities for supply and preparation. Save the customer, property and reported work in the job record.

  2. Check substrate, levels and layout

Record what you have checked before you commit to the work:

    • Measured area and layout
    • Substrate condition and preparation
    • Tile format, grout and trims
    • Who supplies materials and any spare allowance
  3. Separate preparation, laying, grout and trims

Separate preparation, laying and materials in the quote. Make customer-supplied products and assumptions explicit. Review the draft, send it when ready and add the agreed visit to your diary.

  4. Record layout changes and installed products

Record approved changes to layout or preparation. Invoice the completed scope and retain the product notes for later repairs.

Ready to hand over your own admin?

Start with the core app. Call answering must be purchased and set up separately.

More work in your day

For the jobs tilers actually take on.

Keep the details that change the scope, the visit and the final bill.

Kitchen floors

Record the measured area, chosen format and substrate findings. Quote preparation separately from laying.

Walls and splashbacks

Keep layout, edging and grout choices with the job. Make sockets, cuts and any excluded preparation clear in the scope.

Changes during fitting

Record additional levelling or a different layout and agree the revised scope. Keep spare-tile and product notes for later repairs.

A few things to know.

Does it decide whether a floor is suitable for tiling?

No. You assess the substrate and specify preparation and installation. Eve helps record your findings and prepare the associated admin.

Is this a separate app for tilers?

No. It is the same Trade PA app, with examples showing how the shared tools fit this trade. Use your own scope, prices and job details to make it fit the way you work.

What should I try first?

Create a test customer and a draft for “tile a kitchen floor”. Add your own scope and prices, check the wording, then explore the appointment and invoice tools. You can review the draft without sending it.
