A working example

From the measured boundary to panels and gate

This is an illustrative workflow using the existing shared tools in Trade PA. You supply the findings and prices; Eve helps with the admin.

  1. Record the damaged run and gate requirement

The customer needs a replacement fence and gate. Boundary agreement, access and removal of existing concrete affect the work. Save the customer, property and reported work in the job record.

  2. Check access, product choices and post removal

Record what you have checked before you commit to the work:

    • Boundary and measurements confirmed by the customer
    • Panel, post, gravel-board and gate specification
    • Ground conditions and existing post removal
    • Access, disposal and neighbouring-property arrangements
  3. Itemise panels, posts, gate and disposal

Itemise the agreed fencing and gate using your measured quantities. List any unknown obstructions or extra removal work separately. Review the draft, send it when ready and add the agreed visit to your diary.

  4. Record installed products and approved extras

Keep the installed specification and any customer-approved changes. Draft the invoice when the agreed work is complete.

Keep the details that change the scope, the visit and the final bill.

Storm replacements

Keep the measured run and agreed panel height with the quote. Include removal of the damaged fencing and waste.

Gates and new runs

Record gate width, hardware and post specifications. Keep customer-confirmed boundary and access arrangements in the notes.

Difficult removal

Record unexpected concrete or obstructions. Quote additional removal work separately before changing the agreed price.

A few things to know.

Can it decide where the boundary is?

No. You and the customer must resolve boundary and access questions before work. The app records the agreement and helps with scheduling and paperwork.

Is this a separate app for fencing contractors?

No. It is the same Trade PA app, with examples showing how the shared tools fit this trade. Use your own scope, prices and job details to make it fit the way you work.

What should I try first?
